My first ever naked photoshoot
Recently, I expressed an interest in doing a naked photoshoot. Not myself being naked, but taking photos of someone in the nude. I wanted to see if I could portray a woman in an artistic and creative way without it looking too sleazy.
My willing model was singer/songwriter Cha Wilde, who was only in Australia for a couple of weeks and was happy to wake up at the crack of dawn and meet me at a local, unofficial nudist beach.
It’s important that you are obviously comfortable being completely naked in order to do a shoot like this, and I was concerned, having never met Cha before that she would find it really difficult, but if anything, she was sometimes too comfortable in her own skin and I had to tell her to cover herself more so that I could take some photos that I could post on Instagram!
I have to admit, there is something really empowering about doing a nude shoot. Even as the photographer, I felt so inspired by Cha and how confident she was just being herself, that I actually ended up going for a quick skinny dip with her myself after the shoot!
This was also my first shoot with my new mirrorless camera, which I have fallen in love with. I never thought I would be a converted to using mirrorless but I can’t wait to do another shoot with it. I’m also really keen to do more of these shoots, to empower more women and helping them to feel confident in their skin, and hopefully create some art that they might like to hang on their walls! If you’re keen to model, then let me know!
Thanks to Cha for allowing me to use these images. If you shoot with me, of course your images are yours and yours only, I would always get your permission to post anywhere online.
If you’re interested in booking a nude shoot with me or have any questions, please get in touch!
Here’s to beautiful women everywhere and the incredible female form.
